Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers was positioned within the concussion protocol Monday after self-reporting signs to the crew, head coach Anthony Lynn introduced, per Greg Beacham from the Related Press.
It is unclear when the damage occurred, as Rivers did not come out of Sunday’s time beyond regulation loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars at any level, and in addition wasn’t sacked.
If Rivers is confirmed to have a concussion, it could jeopardize his streak of 185 consecutive begins. Kellen Clemens would presumably ascend atop the depth chart with Rivers out, and Cardale Jones would turn into the first backup.
The 35-year-old Rivers has thrown for two,263 yards with 15 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in 9 video games this season.
The Chargers will take a Three-6 document right into a Sunday affair with the Buffalo Payments.
