Carolina Panthers proprietor Jerry Richardson introduced Monday that common supervisor Dave Gettleman has been fired. Gettleman had been the Panthers’ GM since 2013.

“After a lot thought and an extended analysis of our soccer operations, I’ve determined to alleviate Dave Gettleman of his duties as common supervisor,” Richardson stated. “I need to thank Dave for the position he performed in our success over the previous 4 seasons. Whereas the timing of this determination shouldn’t be preferrred, a change is required.”

As Richardson admitted, it is a shocking determination at this stage of the offseason, particularly contemplating Gettleman constructed a roster that went to the Tremendous Bowl in 2015.

The Panthers did severely regress in 2016, ending the season 6-10, however there have been no indicators that Gettleman’s job was in peril.

The timing is even worse contemplating that Carolina’s former assistant GM who was the possible in-home favourite to switch Gettleman, Brandon Beane, left to turn out to be the Buffalo Payments’ GM in Might.
